| A dynamic site is a website consisting of multimedia effects like audio/video, animation, often sound, etc., along with text and graphics. It can interact with the end user via forms that allow the collection of data, etc. |
A dynamic website is a site that is populated by a database. This means that much of the content on each page of the site is not generated until the person accessing the site "requests" it. Dynamic websites are extremley powerful and make it much easier for the site owner to keep the material on his or her site current.
This can be accomplished in a number of ways:
[1] The site owner does not have to know HTML to update material on the site. Instead, he or she can access the web content via a web interface. Updating the web is truly as simple as filling in the blanks.
[2] The material on a dynamic website can be programmed to appear on a certain date and to disappear on a subsequent date. This means a site owner could update their site months in advance, then let the dynamic system change the material without any other input for the site owner.
[3] A dynamic site offers different levels of user interaction. This means a site owner could allow everyone to see certain material, and only certain people to see all material. This user-level system allows for site owners to publish sensitive material that needs to be seen by only a handful of people. |
